Many Viennese tend to stay in their respective neighborhood just like in a village. Or visit the city center. Or the Heurigen. That’s why a lot of people only know the 9th district from long tram rides through Währinger and Nussdorferstrasse to Schottentor or out to Grinzing.
On this walk, the AlpineFoxes invite you „to get off the tram“ and explore the area around the Old and New General Hospital (AKH) to follow the footsteps of famous doctors who studied, worked, researched or lived in this district. Europe’s medical history was actually written here.
Stories about Nobel Prizes, X-ray machines, personal triumphs and defeats will be told. AHA- experiences are guaranteed!

To cool down, the tour will be finished in the traditional way of the AlpineFoxes: with a nice drink and the opportunity to chat.
Meeting point: Altes(Old) AKH, Hof Eins(Courtyard 1), in front of the „Bierheuriger zum Gangl“ restaurant
Duration: approx. 2 hours of walking
Difficulty level: easy walk! But please wear comfy shoes.
Price: 39, – including a drink (coffee, tea, beer etc.)
